Who
Though I specialize in working with adult males and adolescents, I work with a diverse group of clients. However you identify—ethnically, politically, spiritually, and in terms of gender or sexual orientation—and regardless of your experiences, background, body, or beliefs, you are 100% welcome at Base Camp. I work most frequently with clients who face challenges around anxiety. depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, relationship issues, unhealthy attachment, lack of boundaries, and unresolved trauma.
-
Where
I work virtually with clients all over Colorado, and offer in-person sessions at my office, located at 2543 Eliot Street, Denver. I also offer 'nature-based' counseling sessions, meeting at a trailhead near Golden, CO, or at Jefferson Park in Denver. About half of my clients benefit from nature-based therapy. I have a background as a wilderness guide and have developed an approach that uses the natural world as a resource for support, encouraging inner exploration, new insights, and fresh perspectives.
-
When
I have availability (including evenings) Sunday through Thursday. I recommend new clients commit to weekly (or, at the least, bi-weekly) sessions, in order to get some real momentum on their therapeutic journey. The intention is to get you to a point where you can then schedule more 'maintenance' type sessions, if/when needed. How long that takes depends on the individual but I work collaboratively, helping you clarify goals and asking for your feedback, so we make sure this process works best for you.
-
How much
Sessions are 55-minutes and $165 for individuals; 90-minutes and $225 for couples. I currently work with Kaiser insurance company: members are only responsible for their co-pay. For other insurance companies, I may be an out-of-network provider and can provide itemized statements for you to submit for reimbursement. Please note: I am passionate about providing affordable mental health counseling and occasionally have new openings for clients on a sliding scale basis. Reach out to discuss options if you feel you may be financially eligible.
-
'Fieldwork'
My clients benefit from remaining engaged in the process outside of sessions. Tools will help you track daily experiences, improving insights, communication, and emotional regulation.
-
'Fieldplay'
You will also be encouraged to find new ways to dream into the possibilities and greater freedom that lie on the other side of your present challenges.
