Get the help you need …

I combine a cutting edge, neuroscience-informed, psycho-therapeutic approach with behavioral orientations, evidence-backed treatment interventions, and a philosophy rooted in both my experience as a wilderness guide and my background in expeditionary learning.

As we start this journey, we’ll focus on a holistic assessment of where you’re currently at, where you’ve been, and the directions you most want to travel.

I want to get to know you, learn about your goals, and I excel at swiftly building a relationship with my clients based on respect, kindness and trust. In every session, there will be time to talk about the unique things arising for you that week. Surprises will show up. Twists and turns await us. However, with me as your guide, we’ll also use the following template as a map for our work together...

A way forward…

The BASE CAMP ‘map’ for healing:

  • Denver Psychotherapist, mental health counseling information for depression, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    B = Beliefs

    We’ll examine the core assumptions you’ve been making about yourself, your strengths and limitations, your body and mind, your relationships, the people around you, the world and your place in it, and so on. You’ll be encouraged to question where these beliefs came from and what systemic, familial, or cultural influences contributed to your worldview.

  • Denver therapist, mental health counseling for anxiety, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    A = Actions

    We’ll identify concrete steps and life tools to help you right now. Maybe it would be beneficial to get more sleep, practice more mindfulness, take a break from certain relationships, spend less time on social media, or commit to attainable nutrition and fitness goals, perhaps as simple as drinking more water and getting outside for a quiet twenty-minute walk each day.

  • Denver ADHD Psychotherapist, mental health counseling information for ADHD, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    S = Stories

    We live in a narrative-driven world and are constantly creating meaning and interpreting reality through filters we create based on our beliefs. But now that we’ve started to identify and question those beliefs, we can start to question the stories you’re telling yourself on a deep level. We'll see what stories can be thrown out or edited so you can start to more intentionally author your life.

  • Denver self-esteem therapist, mental health counseling information for self-esteem, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    E = Emotions

    A big part of therapy is learning new ways to navigate difficult emotions. It’s likely some feelings are easier for you to process than others, but you’ll discover that narratives around specific emotions might have served you in some way, made you feel safe, or shielded you from pain. However, such narratives are limiting, and to ‘feel better’ you’ll first get ‘better at feeling’.

  • Denver self-esteem teen therapist, mental health counseling information for teens & adolescents, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    C = Compassion

    The therapeutic process is not for the faint of heart and you’ll likely have an inner critic that doesn’t believe you can do this. We’ll work to identify the way this inner voice is influencing your beliefs and stories. And ultimately, to navigate all the parts of you screaming at you to stick with the status quo, we’ll work with interventions and methodology, both new and ancient, that increase your capacity for more grace and kindness.

  • Denver relationship therapist, mental health counseling information for relationships, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    A = Acceptance

    To keep moving onward, and upward, it helps to develop a greater acceptance around our various attachments and limitations, the challenges of life, the mistakes we've made, past traumas and other experiences, and even the ways in which our own beliefs and stories have created suffering. Together, we’ll work on ways you can better observe your inner experience, creating more tolerance and resilience.

  • Denver men & male therapist, men's issues counseling information for men and males, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    M = Maturation

    People often feel most challenged during life transitions, whether the change is rooted in relationships, career, health, or other shifts. Every day we get older, the world evolving around us, and we’ll explore the ways you wish to grow. Who do you want to become? What are your core values and how do you want to give your life meaning? By exploring these questions, you can better identify and work toward self-created goals.

  • Denver Psychotherapist, Denver trauma therapist, mental health counseling information, now accepting new counseling clients in Colorado.

    P = Purpose

    If we think of the therapeutic journey as like climbing a mountain, part of the reward is that, in the end, you get to feel a sense of accomplishment on the summit, and yet you’re excited that the work is not over: the ‘descent’ awaits. In our favor is momentum, because now you’ve identified your life’s purpose, a sense of deep meaning acts like a gravitational pull, orienting you and clarifying each decision you’ll make on the journey ahead.

Therapy for the Adventure of Life

Therapy for the Adventure of Life

Denver Psychotherapist, for anxiety and depression, now accepting new clients in Colorado.

One goal I always establish with my clients is that there will be a time—whether it's weeks, months, or years from now—when you no longer feel the need for regular counseling sessions. However, you can also trust that if you again feel challenged or lost, low on reserves or confused about your next step, you'll be welcomed back to a place you can regroup, reflect, and feel restored...

I'll see you at Base Camp.

Chris consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment to my well-being. His unwavering support and encouragement were instrumental in building my self-confidence and resilience.
